Simon Fraser University Partners With The Joseph Richard Group
The vision for Simon Fraser University’s Burnaby campus has been to create a sustainable, world-class, academic and community experience through a connected and vibrant campus. As part of this vision, the school has announced the beginning of their strategic partnership with The Joseph Richard Group.
The University has committed to a bright future with the continued construction and redevelopment, paving the way for better social experiences for students. This commitment will provide vibrant social hubs for students that offer food and beverage items emphasizing local, craft, made-from-scratch, fair trade and sustainable products with a commitment to provide quality customer-centric services throughout its Burnaby campus. The collaboration includes the opening of a large Burnaby campus pub under the name: The Study Public House.
“Our vision was to create a social hub at the core of our campus that will offer a wide variety of authentic and outstanding food and drink offerings that appeal to students, staff, faculty and UniverCity community members,” says Mark McLaughlin, Chief Commercial Services Officer at SFU.
In addition, Blank Canvas Catering, a division of The Joseph Richard Group, will be servicing the Burnaby campus with catering services, providing students, faculty, and staff with best-in-class culinary experiences. The Joseph Richard Group’s proven capability of providing award-winning social dining spaces with exceptional customer experiences made them the perfect partner with SFU. Intended to be the heart of the Burnaby campus, the highly anticipated pub opening will inspire inclusivity and a fostering of friendships amongst students, faculty, staff, and the community.
“We are very excited for the launch of The Study Public House and this partnership with SFU. Their vision to enhance their student and campus experience aligns seamlessly with JRG’s guest experience benchmark” explained Ryan Moreno, CEO and Co-Founder of the Joseph Richard Group.
